Infinite Recharge, in partnership with Lucasfilm as part of its Star Wars: Force for Change initiative, is the FIRST Robotics Competition game for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. The game involves two alliances consisting of three teams that need to energize the Shield Generator before time runs out– before asteroids hit FIRST City, a fictional city inspired by Star Wars.

To do this, teams must shoot yellow foam balls, known as Power Cells, into goals that vary in height to activate the Shield Generator, manipulate a Control Panel to activate this shield, and return to the Shield Generator park or climb by the end of the match.

Infinite Recharge was the first-ever season not to include a 6-week building limit. The game was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Who is The Destroyer?

2020 was a year full of surprises. The Destroyer has been through a lot, a shed robbery, another shed robbery, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Destroyer has a floor intake for power cells, a v-shaped belt hopper, and an adjustable hooded shooter that can make shots from any part of the field. The shooter faces in the opposite direction to facilitate auto paths involving the trench run.

The Destroyer includes a modified 4-bar climber that can climb on the center and sides of the generator switch, and a custom 8-wheel West Coast Drivetrain capable of quickly crossing the field.

The Destroyer also has a spinner mechanism that is to-be installed.
